South Jordan is a cherished community that many people call home. With our unique placement between the Oqquirh and Wasatch Mountains, nearness to the Jordan River, and the unique inclusion of the master-planned community Daybreak, our city provides a high quality of life to its residents and is an enviable place to live.
The city’s Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan was last updated in 2017. Since that time, the entire city has experienced unprecedented growth and change, posing both opportunities and challenges that require a proactive planning approach. Now is the time for South Jordan to address future needs and challenges and determine how we will Plan Together, Grow Together. The Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan will establish a clear vision for our city that balances current strengths with future needs. This vision will then be translated into long-reaching and comprehensive recommendations that address parks, recreation, trails, and open space development. The resulting plan will help us retain the essence of what our city is today while establishing a clear direction for the future. ADVISORY COMMITTEEAn Advisory Committee made up of city staff and leaders will oversee progress on the plan and help make decisions in a manner that is informed and equitable.
